Nyx Round Lipstick-Ulysses LSS 523: review & Swatches

Nyx Round Lipstick..the love of most of the lipstick lovers(including me) needs no introduction.Praised for the moisturizing ability and talked about for its melting in higher temperatures,this pretty thing has its fair share of discussion in the beauty circles!!

The shade I'm reviewing today is Ulysses.This is my second buy from Nyx round lipstick range (the first being Spell Bound,review following shortly)

The Shade: Ulysses

Ulysses is derived from Ulixes, the Latin name for Odysseus, a character in ancient Greek literature.And from Literature straight to vanity.....I've always been a big fan of terracotta shade of lippie (for that matter all the shades with coral undertones) and this shade(Ulysses) does full justice to my terracotta love.The shade surely belongs to the brown family but has strong coral undertones.It is a bright yet very wearable shade which will never make you look OTT.Ulysses will brighten up both fair lasses and dusky beauties.

My Take:
As stated earlier this is my second Nyx round lippy.It comes in a black casing,which if not very classy,isn't sub-standard either.The colour of the lipstick is visible at the bottom of the bullet case,which makes it attractive and easy to locate at the same time.Like all the other Nyx round Lipsticks,the formula is very creamy and moisturizing.The lipstick isn't frosty or sheer.Its a very very opaque and solid colour.This shade in particular is highly pigmented,with just a single swipe,you get a good idea and amount of the color. It lasts for a good 4-5hours.It is not transfer resistant but it does leave a tint behind even when the lipstick is gone.Being super creamy its prone to bleeding but a good lipliner pretty much solves the problem.I've read and heard that these lipsticks are prone to melting in summers... yet to come across that! But it does have a particular smell to it which might be a turn off for sensitive noses.Not much of a con to me though.

What I Like:
1.Super creamy,a boon for dry lips.
2.Huge variety of shades to choose from.
3.Rich pigmentation.
4.Quite affordable.
5.Lipsticks have a shade name(and interesting ones too,few taken from the Greek mythology).
6.The colour at the bottom of the lipstick case makes it easy to locate.
7.Good packaging for the price.
8.Lasts for 4-5 hours.
9.This shade in particular is awesome!

What i Didn't Like:
1.Sold at higher prices in India.
2.Has a particular smell.
3.Melts in high temperatures.
4.Bleeds if applied without a lipliner.

Last Word:
Despite all the cons listed above Nyx Round Lipstick in Ulysses happens to be one of my favorite lipsticks.The shade is equally beautiful for fair and dusky beauties!

Repurchase:
The lipstick will last me a good amount of time else will surely repurchase!
